Brittney is finally launching her lifelong dream of making all her visions come to life on stage (and on screen). Named in memory and honor of her father (who once owned “Tougas Productions”) Brittney Tougas Productions is encompassing all the love for the Performing Arts, as well as video and photo production.

Brittney grew up dancing in her living room, teaching herself by watching YouTube, movies and TV shows, thinking that was all it would ever amount to. She took up community cheerleading in middle school, and discovered her love for choreography there. Throughout the next several years, she would take on various small projects, but it wasn’t until college where she saw an opportunity to make this into her career.

Upon touring Mitchell College, Brittney was informed of the ability to create an on-campus club if there was something she wanted that didn’t already exist. She saw a path to create something bigger than herself. Hitting the ground running she founded the Mitchell College Dance Team, and found her love for creating Productions was even greater than just choreography. It was everything from lighting, to costumes, to set design.

A majority of students on the team had either never danced prior, or had a bad experience in studios growing up, and this created a bond amongst each other. Everyone was there to find a love for something bigger than themselves. To heal, to express, and to connect.

Brittney’s focus was on emotional storytelling, not just technique. She found that the audience responded deeply to this, despite the team being made up of beginners. The people wanted to feel something, not just be shown a dance.

Following her Senior Year, Brittney sought after more professional dance knowledge, to expand on what she had continued to teach herself all those years. Finding a place in a local studio, she was able to start putting all the pieces together. After multiple Cecchetti Ballet Exams, an Acro Teaching Certification, learning from various instructors, and producing more than a dozen shows in and outside of the college setting, she decided it was time to take the next step…

And Brittney Tougas Productions was born.
